2nd Vocabulary Entry

Word: Poverty
Meaning:The condition or quality of being poor,indigence and need.
Example:
Many critics of the Great Society's war on poverty accuse the Administration of spending too much too loosely.


Word: Destitution
Meaning: Without any money, food or a home.
Example: 
Mother Teresa's detractors have accused her of overemphasizing Calcuttans' destitution and of coercing conversion from the defenseless.

Word: Inability
Meaning: Lack of sufficient power, resources or capacity.
Example: 
He was grieving for mankind, for man's inability to connect with his fellow man, maybe for the need to dream.


Word: Incapable.
Meaning: Not capable, unable to do or achieve(something).
Example:
The 2005 film was incapable of drawing an audience large enough to compete with its steep production budget.

Word: starvation
Meaning: The state of being starved.
Example: 
This year's harvest has also been disappointing, and experts now question whether man can prevent widespread starvation.

Word: Deprivation
Meaning: A depriving or being deprived
Example:
The prolonged experience of depravation and humiliation can radicalize even normal people.

Word: Dearth
Meaning: Dearth means is a lack or small supply or something.
Example: 
With pulp fiction dominating the market, there is a dearth of good novels and novellas in the bookstores.

Word: Thwart
Meaning: To stop something from happening.
Example:
A row of trees, planted years ago by an industrious pioneer, now rose up to thwart these air pioneers.


Word: Famine
Meaning: An acute and general shortage of foot, or a period of this.
Example: 
This time the threat of mass famine is less the caprice of cruel nature than the work of obstinate men.

Word: Drought
Meaning: Is a long period of time when there is no rain.
Example:  
The Famine the World Forgot Refugees from Afghanistan's endless infighting now find themselves further trapped by a relentless winter and an aid drought.
